Lumpenball

The German Club opens for a night in midwinter for our Lumpenball. Known in Germany as Karneval or Fasching, and most commonly as Mardi Gras in the US, our Lumpenball ("rag ball") is the last party of the carnival season just before Lent begins.

The German Club joins together for this event with the Czechoslovak Moravian Club of Endicott, NY, who provide the food and a presentation of traditional  Czech dances. The highlight of the evening is always the burial of the string bass, representing an end to revelry as we enter the solemn season of Lent.

A la carte menu: Holupki, Schnitzel, Kielbasa and a variety of side dishes and desserts.

Cash bar: A full bar of beer, wine, mixed drinks and soft drinks will be available.
