German-American Club of Binghamton

218 Loughlin Road, Binghamton, NY 13904    (607) 775-5265
Open Fridays at 6:00PM

The German-American Club of Binghamton is a social organization of people who like the German culture and enjoy its celebrations.  You don’t have to be German to join We welcome all Americans who want to share good times (Gemütlichkeit!).  We are a full-service not-for-profit social club set up to benefit members and their guests.  We do have the occasional public fundraising event that our supporters in the community are welcome to attend.  Our membership meeting is held every month although the night varies to accommodate our busy social calendar.

We formed over 100 years ago to preserve the German’s perennial love for music, sociability, and conviviality. Since singing is a main feature of the culture, our club is home to one of sixteen German Singing Societies in the New York State Sängerbund. Under the direction of local celebrity Randy Messing, chorus membership is open to anyone interested in singing.  We meet generally every Friday evening for at least 10 months of the year.

For summer and fall 2010 we will be rehearsing Friday evenings July to September from 7:00 to 9:00 pm working on our Volkslieder (folk songs) repertoire and preparing for a clubhouse Konzert in November.
