President's Message

As we breeze through this January, I would like to congratulate our new slate of officers and thank everyone for a splendid turnout at the installation. We are looking for a very busy year with our annual St. Patrick’s celebrations. In front of us is our Annual AOH/LAOH Mass to honor St. Patrick and pray for our deceased members. The Mass is scheduled for March 3, at 11:30 a.m. to be followed by the parade start at 1:30 p.m.

The AOH is grateful to the Parade Committee who has been planning another great parade for Broome County. Everyone is invited to attend the festivities at Seton High School after the parade and the AOH Hall. At Seton there will be several Pipe Bands, a Mummers group from Pennsylvania, along with Irish Vendors and food and drink. Pat Kane will be at the Hall.

As a reminder, there will be an Irish Breakfast March 11 at the AOH Hall to cover the cost of the parade day Mass. Need volunteers to put on the breakfast. Please help.

Thank you to all members who have paid their 2012 dues. Your promptness in this matter will allow us to take advantage of a significant refund from the State AOH. Those who are in arrears with their dues will need to bring this up to date.

The charter was draped this month for John (Jack) Fitzgerald who recently passed away. The AOH extends condolences to his family and friends.

Your attention to Right to Life is needed this month due to Roe vs. Wade anniversary. Remembrance of this will take place with a prayer service at St. Mary’s and spaghetti dinner at

K of C Hall/Binghamton.

Next AOH meeting will be March 20 at 7 p.m. at the AOH Hall. We look forward to seeing you.
